Record Release and Benefit for Dreams...
On Sept 25 the HotHouse in Chicago hosted a CD release party for Scottinho, a Chicago based guitarist, composer and singer whose CD, Batizado, features music recorded in Chicago and Brazil. Batizado combines influences from Africa and the Americas, primarily Brazil into a mix of MPB, Bossa Nova, Jazz and Samba. Batizado features performances by Toninho Horta, Juarez Moreira, Paulinho Garcia, and many others. This event will feature Scottinho and his band, as well as the Chicago chapter of the International Capoeira Angola Foundation. This event also served as a fundraiser for Dreams Can Be, which received $5,050 from this singular evening and continues to receive a percentage of the cd sales on this record! We are impressed at the kindness and generosity of our new friends in Chicago and their desire to help children in Brasil ‐ our deepest gratitude goes out to Scott and Janaina for their dedication to and belief in our work!
