New York, N.Y. - Excalibur Enterprise , a new importer specializing in the finest spirits of Brazil, announced today that it will launch a line of super-premium Cachaças in the United States beginning September 1st. The Excalibur portfolio includes a superior quality un-aged Cachaça as well as six handcrafted, aged Cachaças from small producers, comparable in quality to the finest tequilas, rums, and single malt Scotches. Excalibur Principal Olie Berlic, a former New York City sommelier with over 20 years in the wine & spirits industry, established his company to fill the current gap in the American market for high quality Brazilian spirits - a void that is especially surprising considering Cachaça's position as the third most popular spirit in the world.

Notes Berlic, "The rum and vodka categories are oversaturated with multiple brands and countless extensions, but the American market for Cachaça remains virtually untapped, despite the incredible enthusiasm for all things Brazilian you find in this country. The signature product in the Excalibur portfolio is Beleza Pura Cachaça, an un-aged, super-premium Cachaça produced with selected lots of sugar cane, wild yeast, and a distillation process that captures the essence of the sugar cane to produce a smooth, pure spirit. Excalibur also offers six of the finest artesian Cachaças available in Brazil - aged, small-batch Cachaças from three of the country's most celebrated producers - that rival the premium spirits currently on the market in terms of flavor, nuance, and character.

Excalibur also plans to unveil the first ready-to-drink version of Brazil's national drink, the Caipirinha, in January 2005. Beleza Pura Caipirinha is a sublime blend of lime, sugarcane, and Beleza Pura Cachaça, mixed with precision according to the traditional Brazilian recipe. Says Berlic, "The Caipirinha has recently become one of the most popular cocktails in the world, but it's very difficult to find an authentic rendition. The launch of Beleza Pura Caipirinha will make it possible for every bar, restaurant, and nightclub in America to serve a classic Caipirinha - along with any consumer who wants to enjoy a taste of Brazil at home."

Launch Details
