Dr. Rosa Célia of the Pro-Child Cardiac Project receives the 2006 "Make a Difference" Award from Brazil's O Globo Newspaper
The award was announced in the Science section of the O Globo newspaper, acknowledging Dr. Célia's work to make a difference in the lives of Brazilian children. The award, and the exposure that comes with it, come at an important time for Dr. Célia as she begins the monumental task of building the first Children's Hospital in Rio de Janeiro. The building has been purchased, but $12 million are still required to complete the renovations and purchase equipment.
Dr. Célia will be presented with the award on March 21st in a ceremony at the Copacabana Palace hotel in Rio de Janeiro.
